Behind the Scenes of Seattle’s Wicked

Elphaba, or Donna Vivino, recently talked to the Evening Magazint and gave a back stage tour to all those lucky fans. At the Paramount Theater in Seattle, she says “it’s the companion story of “The Wizard of Oz,” and about the Wicked Witch of the West, Elphaba (that’s me [pointing to herself]) and the Good Witch, Glinda. “I’m gonna show you what happens behind the scenes.” She takes us to the women’s gandala, or the women’s changing room. “This is a very, very busy place during the show. We have lots of hats, shoes…now we’re going to take a ride in Glinda’s bubble, which I’ve never done so don’t tell her.” Getting the head technician to help, she says “highly technical, I just want to go fly in a bubble….It’s my first time, wish me luck!” Vivino continues with her dressing room…”these are where my costumes live when they’re not on me.”

Then she leaves to go get green! “It’s very light.” “It’s so easy to be green,” she says, as she runs out on stage to begin her part! It’s all very exciting and will played through October 4th. Though it has since moved on, Seattle is surely thankful for the special treat.
