From Wicked to Oz

The Orange County Gay Men’s Chorus is celebrating the all the tunes that inspired “Wicked” and beyond in a show titled “Wicked to Oz,” a summer concert that combines favorite selections from the classic film “The Wizard of Oz,” “The Wiz” and the Broadway show “Wicked.” With direction of Artistic Director Rich Cook the company is wrapping up their eighth season with a unique and original story line that will be presented July 17th at 8pm and July 18th at 3 and 8pm at the Irvine Barclay Theatre in Irvine. “We have created an original story that ties together the best loved songs from these three beloved musicals. Along with several fully staged production numbers, a specially built set and more than 300 costumes this will be our most elaborate production to date. Our summer shows have become known for their light and exciting music with a spectacular visual approach. What could be more spectacular than traveling to both ends of the Wizard of Oz spectrum - contemporary music and beloved standars - and mixing them together with lots of visual excitement?” Cook said to the Pitch Engine.  If you want to see this take on the Wizard story get your Wicked tickets today!
