Shoshana Bean, formerly of Wicked, is joining another kind of wicked fun stage show this year as another dancing queen with Mel B in “Peepshow,” the Las Vegas adult-themed feature from Tony Award winning choreographer Jerry Mitchell. The former Elphaba, who was the first to replace original Tony Award winning Idina Menzel in the role on Broadway of the green witch, and will assume the role of “The Peep Diva” while former PlayBoy bunny and Hugh Hefner partner Holly Madison will take over as “Bo Peep.” Both will begin their roles for June 22. “Shoshana is a brilliant and gifted performer and a perfect fit for “Peepshow,” Scott Zeiger of BASE Entertainment said to Playbill. “She is a triple threat - she can sing, dance and act and her theatrical experience will bring a whole new elemennt to the stage at Planet Hollywood.” The Los Angeles Times got an interview with the new star who said “I was in the original company of ‘Hairspray’ back in 2002 and Jerry Mitchell was the choreographer on that. So, when he was conceiving ‘Peepshow’ there was a lot of discussion and it finally worked out….SB: I mostly have a background in musical theater and Broadway. After “Hairspray,” I did “Wicked” for about two years. And this winter I released my solo album, and I have been hustling that and touring and promoting my own stuff. I sang backup for a lot of pop stars back in the day like Michael Jackson. And, doing an album is what I really wanted to do and finally I was able to get a minute to do it. That is what the past couple years have been about.
