Fans came out in droves in a chance to win Wicked tickets this year in Salt Lake City. Two hours before each sold out performance in the city, fans get the chance to put their name in the witch’s cauldron and 30 minutes later the winners are called. The tour sells ten pairs of tickets for $50 each, cash only and they are amazing seats. “What I’ve found, is that in most markets, we’re typically in our last week before we hit numbers near 300 (people in line),” said Steve Quinn To Deseret News, company manager for the national tour, “but in this market, we’ve been pretty consistent.” Last week during the rains the highest number came out - 407, Quinn continued. “It’s beautiful here, the architecture, the flowers at Temple Square. It’s been great,” Quinn commented on the energy at the shows, “It’s incredible. It’s almost like a rock concert in many ways. The energy is through the roof — these people have waited so long.” Some fans are back for more, like Berrett Maynard of Taylorsville who saw the show on its second night and has since stood in line eight more times. “The sets are incredible, Donna’s voice is amazing, I just fell in love with it. I’ll be here every night until it closes.”
