Adam Lambert Still Holds the Stage

As one of the favorites to win American Idol, Wicked’s Adam Lambert is still standing tall in the hit TV series that is once again taking America by storm. Country music week proved a bit difficult for the enigmatic Adam, but he did manage to create something entirely unusual and new with his rendition of Johnny Cash’s “Ring of Fire.” Blog, internet articles, fans and even the judges seem a bit divided about Adam’s performance, with one article calling it “weird or brilliant or bizzarre.” Despite some confusion about his performance, there is no doubt that since his days as the understudy for Fiyero in Wicked, Adam Lambert has really blossomed as an entertainer and showman.

Wicked tells the story of the witches of Oz, before Dorothy comes on the scene. It answers the questions: “What was Glinda the Good Witch like as a child?” and “Who was the Wicked Witch of the West before she became notoriously famous, as the cackling creature who terrorized the skies of Oz?” The part of Fiyero is that of the young prince who is the love interest of both witches and who plays an important role in the women that they become when they leave school.
