Wicked’s Chenoweth

Kristin Chenoweth is one of those rare actresses who can seamlessly transition between screen, stage, and film, as she presents her incredible acting ability to the public. Chenoweth is well-known for having originated the role of Glinda in Wicked, and currently stars in the ABC series Pushing Daisies.  Her performance in Wicked earned her a Tony-Award nomination for Leading Actress in a Musical. Chenoweth is currently getting ready to appear at the Lincoln Triangle Barnes & Noble in celebration of her upcoming memoir, A Little Bit Wicked: Life, Love and Faith in Stages at 7.30pm on April 15, 2009.

Chenoweth’s origination of the part of Glinda was monumental, as the musical has turned into a long-running and best-selling favorite on Broadway. Wicked tells the story of the witches of Oz: Glinda the Good Witch, the Wicked Witch of the West, and the Wicked Witch of the East. The story turns the Wizard of Oz, which most of us are familiar with today, upside down based on Gregory Maguire’s fascinating sequel to the story. While there is some talk of the show being made into a film sometime in the future, the musical is still so popular that it probably will not happen for some time. If you wish to see Wicked, then be sure to get your Wicked tickets soon. The musical is currently on tour and a second one is being launched in the next week.
