Wicked, the Musical is currently playing at seven locations world-wide, with another to be added soon, when the second national tour gets started in March. The women playing Elphaba have proven themselves to be talented and the part has brought fame to many of the actresses who have performed it. Today the role of Elphaba in New York is filled by NicoleĀ Parker, formerly of MADtv, who had already gained renown on Broadway in the show Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me. In San Francisco the part is filled by Teal Wicks, who recently returned to the role that she previously played in Los Angeles. On Tour, and currently in Applegate, Wisconsin, is Donna Vivino who also previously appeared on Broadway in Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me.
Internationally in London Elphaba is played by Kerry Ellis, who previously played the role on Broadway. In Tokyo the part is played by Hamada Megumi. In Stuttgart, Germany, the role is filed by Willemijn Verkaik. And in Melbourne, Australia, the role is filled by Amanda Harrison, who mayed her professional debut at age 18, in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Aspects of Love.
