Wicked Continues to Break $1 Million!

Wicked continues to make good in the box office, though there has been a slight slowdown since Christmas, which is to be expected. The week ending January 18, the musical made $1,302,387 in the box office. This past week, ending January 25, the musical grossed $1,236,816.

Wicked is currently showing  in three cities in the US and in four cities in other countries. The musical is the biggest event on Broadway and it is only getting bigger. Along with the rise of the musical, several actresses have risen to prominence based on their star performances as the main characters of Elphaba and Glinda. Most notable among these are Idina Menzel, Kristin Chenowith, and Eden Espinosa to name a few.

Idina Menzel, however, is the actress who has gained the most prominence for her performance in Wicked, for which she won the Tony Award for Best Actress. From Wicked she went on to star in Rent, and eventually she played the role of Maureen in the film version of the musical. Wicked tickets are the most sought after commodity on Broadway, so be sure to procure yours today!
