Boy With Cerebral Palsy Enjoys Wicked

According to the Mount Vernon Register News, from Mount Vernon, Illinois, one young resident of the town has become very fond of the hit musical Wicked. David Hester attends the Mt. Vernon Township High School, and he first attended the musical in 2007. The story and the music opened a new door to language for him, helping him to be able to communicate better with others and giving him a passion for singing.
The character of Elphaba is Hester’s favorite, and he greatly enjoyed meeting actress Donna Vivino the last time he went to see the show. Elphaba is the main character of the musical, she is the girl who grows up to become the Wicked Witch of the West. The story follows her from her days as an outcast, green skinned girl at a school where her true brilliance is finally beginning to be recognized.
