Carol Kane’s Madame Morrible

Carol Kane is Madame Morrible in San Francisco’s Wicked, and she does a brilliant job of it as she has in all her previous roles. An actress who takes eccentric and arguably brilliant character parts on the stage and in film, Kane’s roles have been incredibly diverse and all executed to a high degree of excellence. She has described the character of Madame Morrible as “flamboyant, opinionated, highfalutin and a lot of fun.” Madame Morrible is the second biggest villain in the musical.

Wicked tickets for San Francisco are on sale now,and the show will be opening in just four days, on January 27th. The musical has become one of the most exciting shows of the decade, and has had a strong run everywhere that it has played. This winter marks its second run in San Francisco, where it is being met with enthusiasm as long-time fans welcome it back to their city. Even though the musical is now more than five years old, it has not ceased to be a relevant and popular show to see due to the way that it candidly confronts some of the popular understandings of acceptability.
