Wicked Rumors

Fellow San Diegans get ready to sing and dance, because rumor has it that the hit Broadway musical Wicked is going to be playing at the Civic Theater this summer. Yes, the most successful, popular and thrilling musical of the decade is coming to our theater, and not for a disappointingly short run of two weeks like last time. The musical is scheduled to arrive here for the entire month of August, and will be opening on July 29.

For those who weren’t able to see the musical in all its green glow when it was in San Diego the last time, or who were not able to make the trek up  to LA to see it there, this is a musical based on the book by Gregory Maguire. Wicked is the story of two girls, Galinda and Elphaba, who grow up to become Glinda the Good Witch and The Wicked Witch of the West. It is a story that presents a very different Oz than the one we are all accustomed to in the Wizard of Oz. Keep an eye out for Wicked tickets at StubHub.com, they will be coming soon!
