Moving North

Wicked, the Musical, has now left he Pantages Theater in Los Angeles for Northern California. The musical ran for nearly two years in LA, where it took in a record $1,949,068 it’s opening week in February of 2007. During the entire run of the musical in LA it took in an impressive $145 million. Final figures for the last week of the show will be available sometime later this week or the beginning of next at The Broadway League website. The musical was closed by the actresses Megan Hilty and Eden Espinosa who originated the parts in the LA run.

California-based fans of the musical need not despair, however, as the show is going to be opening in San Francisco on January 27. With Teal Wicks as Elphaba, Kendra Kassebaum as Glinda, Carol Kane as Madame Morrible, and David Garrison as The Wizard this promises to be an exciting show.
