Wicked’s Cinderella Story

Bay City native, Marrissa Lupp, had the Christmas present of a lifetime…or rather a career…this past Christmas. The New York University graduate was studying for her last series of exams before graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Theater when the phone rang. No, it was not her fairy godmother, but it was definitely something close. While most of her peers were going to be spending their time climbing the steep ladder towards Broadway success, Marrissa had been chosen to play the understudy for the part of Glinda in the National Tour of the  Broadway blockbuster Wicked.

Katie Rose Clark is the actress playing Glinda on the tour, and Lupp will be playing her understudy. As the understudy Lupp will be required to use all of her singing, dancing and acting abilities. She must learn the role of Glinda to perfection, and her six-month contract is something that every theater graduate dreams about.
