Wicked and it’s Offspring

Wicked is just one of several books by Gregory Maguire that he has written for adults. The retelling of old stories, creating them in way that gives them appeal and relevance to today’s world, has given a new sort of literary satisfaction to his adult readership. Maguire has become one of the most celebrated authors of our day, and with Wicked the Musical still standing as one of the most popular musicals on Broadway there is speculation as to whether his other Oz books will be made into stage performances as well.

Several things, however, might get in the way of this becoming a reality. One is that the musical changes the way that the story ends, or does it entirely? How can the reconciliation between the differences Wicked and Wicked, the Musical be made compatable if another musical is made of the second book? The third, book, however, may have some more insight into the story, as this one is about the Cowardly Lion. While the prospect of a Lion dancing and singing on stage could give some people the shakes, it could result in yet another fascinating musical. So whether Son of a Witch and A Lion Among Men tickets will be available in the future. Be sure to get your Wicked tickets while the show is still on Broadway.
