Wicked Songs

The hit musical Wicked has become so widely popular and well-known that it is no wonder there is talk of it being made into a film, when this will happen, however, is a matter of speculation. This does not seem to be one of those “love/hate” kind musical it is, apparently, simply a musical that just about everyone loves. Although a great deal of the appeal of this musical is in the story, which is definitely one that just about everyone can relate to. But the musical itself is incredibly well-written and well-performed.

Wicked also has some great songs in it. Just think about songs such as “Popular,” sung by the ever-popular Glinda with the hit chorus “Popular/You’re gonna be popular/I’ll teach you the proper ploys/When you talk to boys/Little ways to flirt and flounce/I’ll show you what shoes to weare/How to fix your hair/Everything that really counts.”

There is also the pinacle score of the musical, the song “Defying Gravity” with the incredible lines “So if you care to find me/Look to the western sky/As someone told me lately/’Everyone deserves a chance to fly!’” This is a truly great musical and if you have not seen it yet, now is the time to get your Wicked tickets from StubHub.com.
