Wicked Million

This Thanksgiving Wicked was on of several shows to make over a million dollars in the box offices. The show has also been raking in huge sums in normal weeks worldwide. This is definitely a show worth seeing, and not just because it has become one of the icons of this decade. For the few who have yet to see this incredible musical: get out there, get your tickets and enjoy the show…it’s incredible.

Coming alongside Wicked during the week of Thanksgiving are Mary Poppins, Billy Elliot, Shrek the Musical, and Jersey Boys. Irving Berlin’s White Christmas reached its million with an extra performance totalling nine, rather than the customary eight.

Wicked is one of the most raved about shows on Broadway. The musical is based on the book Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West by Gregory Maguire. It is a story that takes the beloved children’s tale, The Wizard of Oz and turns the story on its head.
