Soshana Bean Turns to R&B

Soshana Bean is most widely known for her starring role as Elphaba in the hit Broadway musical Wicked, which has earned her worldwide recognition. The title song from the album, Superheroes, was chosen by NBC to promote its Monday-night lineup, which “Heroes” is a part of. The songs on the album are contemporary and urban, tinged with R&B.

Bean is not the first star from Wicked to launch a music career. So far the stars from Wicked who have successful solo careers include Indina Menzel, Julia Murney, and Kristin Chenowith. The show is not only known for its rave reviews and sell-out shows, but also for launching the careers of several actresses who are not some of Broadway’s greatest.
