“Wicked” stars Katie Adams and Shoshana Bean will be performing in Fort Meyers for a fundraiser to support the Sidney and Berne Davis Art Center Fundraiser. The Wizard of Arts will take place on Saturday, November 1, in the downtown area of Fort Meyers. This fundraiser shows just how far the musical has come, becoming a theme for major social events.
Katie Adams made her Broadway debut in “Wicked” as Glinda the Good for the show’s national tour. She is now living in New York and is the understudy/standby for eight performances a week. During her stint with the national tour she sang alongside Soshana Bean, and is excited to be joining her on stage once more.
Soshana Bean spent two years as Elphaba on Broadway and in the national tour. The actress has many other exciting credits to her name, including a stint with “Hairspray.” Her first solo album “Superhero” will be released in December, and she will be performing some of the songs from the album in addition to songs from Wicked.
The gala will include a sit-down dinner with courses inspired by the musical, The Wizard of Oz. The center will be designed as a reflection of the Emerald City theme. All those attending are being encouraged to dress in costumes reflecting the theme. The musical is going to be playing in Fort Myers in March, and is now playing at venues in Atlanta, New York, Chicago and LA. The musical has been inspiring people left and right, and we can be sure that tomorrow there will be lots of little Elphabas and Glindas roaming the streets. So if you have yet to see this musical, then act fast and get your “Wicked” tickets today.
