The second national tour of the hit Broadway show Wicked will be launching from the Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Hall in Fort Myers, Florida. The show will remain in Fort Myers through March 29, before moving on to Birmingham, Jacksonville, Norfolk, Indianapolis and Memphis. The national tour will be taking place due to an overwhelming demand for tickets by theater-goers across the US. The story of the Ozian myth, that turns the original tale by L. Frank Baum on it’s head, is now going to be coming to stages throughout the U.S.
The story features the two witches that were introduced in The Wizard of Oz, by Baum, back in 1900 are presented in a whole new light. Like a new architectural find or hidden document, that sheds a new light on history, the story presents and Oz that you might never have suspected.
Galinda and Elphaba are two…well you couldn’t exactly call them normal girls. They attend college together, and through a strange series of events move from mutual disdain, to close friendship. The story reveals a twisted and wicked world, that results in the fall Elphaba into the Wicked Witch that we know of. But is she really wicked?
