Cusack’s Role Marks Return to U.S.

Many stage actors and actresses come over from the United Kingdom to be a part of one of the many shows in the United States, but it isn’t a homecoming for very many of them.  Such is the case with Carmen Cusack, who will be playing the starring role of Elphaba in the national tour of Wicked.  She started out her life in the U.S., bouncing around to different states in her youth like Colorado and Texas. After she graduated from college, Cusack got a job on the Queen Elizabeth 2, which led to more opportunities across the pond. She has been there for more than a decade.

Her time in the U.K. has been full of famous roles like in Phantom of the Opera and others on the West End (London’s Broadway). With the depth and fame of the role of Elphaba, Cusack could have hardly picked a better role to mark her re-entrance into the states.  Wicked seems to break box office records wherever it lands. Wicked is set in Oz before The Wizard of Oz and tells a deeper story about how the Witches took their respective roles of “good” and “wicked.” Catch all of the stars of this show by getting Wicked tickets from StubHub.com.
