“Wicked Day” Announced

If you see a lot of green in New York this autumn, don’t be confused, St Patrick’s Day has not come early. The Empire State Building will be turning green to announce the third year that the hit Broadway musical, which has won awards and broken records in the box office, is now has an entire day devoted to celebrating its existence. Special events will be taking place in many of the major cities across the US as well as in London. The London celebrations will take place in the West End on October 26th.

A new anniversary edition of the Wicked CD will also be released in October, on the 28th. It will include recordings from the original cast on the first disk. The second disk will have the songs from the musical recorded by some famous artists such as Leanne Rimes and Delta Goodrem. Also included will be a dance mix of Idina Menzel’s signature song “Defying Gravity.” There will also be songs from Japanese and German editions of the cast album for the bonus material.
