Wicked Star Has Fans Wanting More

The role of Elphaba takes incredible talent and has brought out some of the best female stars to the role like Idina Menzel.  Menzel may be the most famous former Elphaba, but those who have seen the Broadway show may have been just as impressed with Shoshana Bean.  Her performance has caused such a stir that cities are asking her to come perform.  Bean will be coming to the Art on Edge festival in North Carolina to share her talent and voice with the numerous fans she has there. Festival organizer Terri Dollar seems like an avid fan himself and exclaimed to the News and Observer, “I want to just scream out and say, ‘She’s coming! You don’t have to click, just come. Just know that she’s here.’”

Wicked is a musical that seems almost designed to make stars out of its cast. It has a great plot and music that has audiences wowed around the world.  Elphaba is the younger version of The Wizard of Oz’s Wicked Witch of the West.  The themes in the movie deal with prejudices and corruption in the government.  Even those who weren’t The Wizard of Oz fanatics have fallen in love with this musical.
