See Wicked Close to Home

High gas prices and expensive air travel are canceling vacations across the country, and that is just what some U.S. cities are banking on. Labeled as a “staycation,” cities like New York, Boston and Chicago are all pushing them heavily. Marketing professor Bonita Kolb told the Christian Science Monitor, “Anytime you can keep a dollar at home, that’s good. If you have commercial attractions like theme parks, local people may often go there. But there’s a lot more to a city than that, like local cultural events that people might just ignore because they take them for granted.”

For cities that boast a resident show of Wicked, the sell isn’t nearly as tough.  The musical has won awards and the praises of audiences worldwide for its inventive plot and amazing music.  There are few shows that can entertain like Wicked can, and a day at the theater will inevitably feel just like a vacation.  The story of the Wicked Witch of the West before The Wizard of Oz is captivating the nation and making them wonder about society’s definition of wicked.  Come see the story of Elphaba, Glinda and magic school and get your Wicked tickets from StubHub.com.
