Pushing Daisies Star Loves Wicked

Wicked’s buzz around Hollywood is really getting steam.  Kristin Chenoweth, the actress that plays Olive in Pushing Daisies, has commented on wanting to be part of the movie version of the Tony Award-winning production as the Wicked Witch of the West Elphaba.  She is a big fan of the musical but fears it may take years to get a movie production going saying “I’m afraid they’re going to run and run and run Wicked until they get every penny from the road companies.”

It is no wonder that Chenoweth, who was just nominated for an Emmy for her Pushing Daisies role, is so infatuated with the show.  Wicked has taken the country and world by storm and brought in loads of fans.  Even non-theater buffs love this show about Oz before Dorothy came.  Elphaba is not yet seen as wicked and is a schoolmate of Glinda at magic school.  Through a series of misunderstandings and prejudices, Elphaba is mislabeled and seen as a villain.
