Wharton Welcomes Wicked

Wicked has come to the Wharton Center for the Performing Arts on the campus of Michigan State University in East Lansing. The Tony Award-winning musical has been to the city before and created quite a buzz. The show is set to run from July 16 to August 10 and local fans are scrambling to get their hands on tickets. The show runs Tuesday through Sunday of every week it is there at various times. A local news source, NOISE, will be holding interviews with the entire cast of Wicked next week.

If you automatically loved Glinda the Good Witch and hated the Wicked Witch in the original Wizard of Oz, you may just not know the whole story. Wicked the musical tells the story of Oz before Dorothy arrived. Glinda and Elphaba (The Wicked Witch) were not yet good and evil, just witches going to magic school. The audience is shown that Elphaba does not have an evil heart or intentions, but is the victim of prejudice because of her green skin.
