The Chicago production of Wicked is expecting to welcome two new additions to their cast of performers tonight. Lisa Brescia is stepping into the role of Elphaba and Annaleigh Ashford is taking over the role of Glinda. Brescia is joining the Chicago company directly from Wicked on Broadway and her other credits include: “The Times They Are A-Changin’” and “The Woman in White.” The new additions to the cast will undoubtedly make the production more complete and fans will be thrilled to see these talented actors up on the stage.
Wicked is the winner of 15 major awards including the Grammy Award and three Tony Awards. According to press notes posted on Playbill.com, Wicked “is the untold story of the witches of Oz. One, born with emerald-green skin, is smart, fiery and misunderstood. The other is beautiful, ambitious and very popular. Wicked tells the story of their remarkable odyssey, how these two unlikely friends grow to become the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good Witch. Get your Wicked tickets as soon as possible!
