Hit Musical Wicked Set to Close Next Year in Chicago

Wicked has generated many fans around the world and now the much heralded musical is getting ready to close its curtains once and for all.  Wicked has become one of the top grossing and longest running Broadway musical in Chicago theater history.  Lou Raizin, president of Broadway in Chicago was quoted in the Chicago Sun Times as saying, “It’s been a magical show in every sense of the word.  There’s no question about it, ‘Wicked’ proved that Chicago works as a city that can sustain a long-running show.”

The Tony Award winning “Wicked” initially opened in Chicago at the Ford Center for the Performing Arts, Oriental Theatre on June 24, 2005.  The dedicated Broadway cast in Chicago, generated much applause from audience members and the run in Chicago became a huge hit.  It definitely put Chicago on the map as far as being a hot spot to see popular musicals from Broadway.  Be sure to get your pair of Wicked tickets before the show comes to a close.
