Los Angeles Wicked Set to Close in January 2009

Los Angeles based residents, make sure that you have the chance to see the hit production of Wicked in your own city before it officially closes its curtains!  The final performance is set for January 11, 2009.  The musical currently features Caissie Levy as the green faced Elphaba and Megan Hilty as the curly haired Glinda.  The show began previews in California on February 10, 2007 and has remained a popular hit among all Wizard fans.  In a statement posted on Playbill.com, producer Marc Platt said, “Wicked has been one of the biggest hits in Los Angeles Theater history.”

According to press notes, also posted on Playbill.com Wicked, “is based on Gregory Maguire’s novel, which turned every Oz myth inside out.  Wicked explores the early life of the witches of Oz: Glinda and Elphaba.  The two main characters meet at Shiz, a school where both hope to take up sorcery.  Glinda is madly popular and Elphaba is, well green.  Eventually their choices and convictions take them on widely different paths.”  Be sure to check out this fantastic production before it leaves Los Angeles for good!  Get your pair of Wicked tickets today!
