JoAnne Worley Makes a Magnificent Madame Morrible

The cast of Wicked welcomes another frightfully wonderful character to their talented cast with the addition of JoAnne Worley as Madame Morrible in the Los Angeles production.  The character was first portrayed by Carol Kane.  Worley has had an extensive career in musical theatre.  Some of her credits include: the national tour of “Carnival,” appearances in “The Drowsy Chaperone,” “Hello, Dolly!” and “Grease.”  She is also popular because of her appearances on “The Tonight Show,” “The Andy Williams Show” and “The Merv Griffin Show.”  There seems to be no doubt that Worley will fill the horrible shoes of Morrible quite expertly especially with all of her previous experience, both on stage and on screen.

The Los Angeles Company of Wicked most recently celebrated its one year anniversary and is doing exceptionally well in ticket sales.  The musical is based on the novel by Gregory Maguire and it has music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz.  Wicked tells the tale of the two witches featured in L. Frank Baum’s story of “The Wizard of Oz” before they actually took up residence in the land of Oz.  It is a delightful story that will have you re-thinking your interpretations of the Wicked Witch of the West.  Don’t miss JoAnn Worley and don’t miss the show with your pair of Wicked tickets from Stubhub.com.
