Wicked Gets Dark and Scary!

Wicked theater-goers were unfortunately prevented from seeing all of the much- heralded musical at the Ford Center in Chicago on Wednesday night.  Things got a little bit too dark, and I’m not talking about the storyline here.  A power outage shut down the performance and unhappy patrons had to exit the theater without seeing the ending of the popular show based on the two witches from the Wizard of Oz story.  Apparently the theatre was not the only one affected by the outage, other buildings nearby were also affected, although there has not been a reported cause for the sudden lack of power.  The lights went out at about 9:45 Pm during the performance and although an emergency generator provided some light on the stage, it was not nearly enough.  Plus, who wants to be trapped in the dark with a bunch of witches?!

Hopefully the dejected theater-goers, who missed the second act will get replacement tickets for the show.  It is no doubt aggravating to have to leave a performance before the curtain goes down.  Wicked is an acclaimed production that has made it big on Broadway and in other cities around the country in a national tour.  It just recently celebrated its one year anniversary in Los Angeles and has broken records in the city for the amount of tickets sold.  Make sure that you don’t miss this amazing show, but be sure to be prepared in case the lights go down and don’t get spooked!  Get your pair of Wicked tickets from Stubhub.com.
