‘Wicked’ Gets Major Attention - Menzel on ‘Good Day LA’ and cast in Empty Space Ensemble

With actress Idina Menzel coming out with her new album and making a guest appearance Thursday, Feb. 7 on “Good Day LA” and with fellow cast members from the smash hit Broadway production she once starred in cameoing in the Empty Space Ensemble performance Monday, Feb. 11 at the Knitting Factory in NYC, Wicked continues to make waves in the media and with theater fans everywhere.

Menzel - who starred as Elphaba the Wicked Witch of the West in the “Wizard of Oz” prequel that chronicles the lives of Elphaba and Glinda the Good Witch long before Dorothy and Toto dropped in - released her third solo album “I Stand” at the end of January and has been appearing on a series of talk shows to promote her work ever since. Now, Brad Bass - who portrayed Fiyero in the Chicago production in 2006 and joined the Broadway production of the smash hit in 2007 - will join a special performance at the Knitting Factory for a one-night only fundraising event that will feature cast from several hot Broadway shows, including Cry Baby, Gypsy and The Lion King, singing love songs by famous artists ranging from Pat Benatar to Whitney Houston, according to an article published Tuesday, Feb. 5, at the official Broadway World Web site.
