The smash hit Broadway production is packing up and traveling across the country and now fans in Cincinatti can see this amazing musical live at Proctor and Gamble Hall’s Arnoff Center for the Arts, according to an article published one of the production’s many fan sites: MusicalSchwartz.com.
Wicked will take Cincinnati by storm for a whole two weeks, as the production runs through Feb. 3 and features performances each week night at 8 a.m. and afternoon showings on Saturday and Sunday. The Arnoff Center for the Arts will also offer a daily lottery for reduced price $25 tickets, starting each day about two and a half hours before showtime. Participants must be present to enter their names and must be present when names are drawn to win one of the limited amounts of $25 tickets available, according to the venue’s official Web site.
Winner of a Grammy and three Tony awards, Wicked has been entertaining audiences since it premiered on Broadway in 2003. Now the award winning cast and crew have fashioned a national tour of the production - the story of an unlikely friendship between Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West, and Glinda the Good Witch of the East. In this “Wizard of Oz” prequel, audiences of all ages will delight in getting a first hand glimpse into the goings-on of the wonderful world of Oz, way before Dorothy and her trusted Toto dropped in for a visit.
