‘Wicked’ star to hold special beneift concert Dec. 17 for Toys for Tots

Actress Stephanie J. Block, most recently recognized for her role in as Elphaba in the smash hit Broadway production of Wicked The Musical, will perform in a special benefit concert Dec. 17 to support the Toys For Tots and Broadway Cares/Equity Fight AIDS (BCEFA) organizations, according to an article published on the Wicked Musical official Web site.

The concert, held at Broadway’s Lucille Lortel Theatre at 8 p.m. for one night only, will feature other prominent theater talents such as Ashley Brown, Karen Mason, Tituss Burgess, Antonique Smith, Lauren Kennedy, Lisa Howard, Nikki M. James, Geoff Packard, Chelsea Chromback and Marty Thomas, to name a few. The show will showcase song performances by cast members from some of the biggest musicals on Broadway, including Wicked, Mama Mia! Grease, Mary Poppins, Les Miserables, Altar Boyz, Legally Blonde and A Chorus Line.

Tickets for the show are $15 for those who bring a new, unwrapped toy to donate to Toys for Tots, and $20 for those without. All proceeds go to the BCEFA foundation - an organization dedicated to providing social services and programs to those within the entertainment industry who are effected by critical illnesses, including but not limited to HIV and AIDS.
