‘Wicked’ musical director heads up new ‘Jerry Springer: The Opera;’ two nights only at Carnegie Hall

With an original premier in London more than four years ago, this musical has become a smash hit, winning the Olivier Award, The Critic’s Circle Award, Evening Standard Award and What’s On Stage Award – a feat that no other West End production has ever achieved.

For two nights only – Jan. 29 and 30 - the talented cast and crew of Jerry Springer The Opera will perform the award winning production for live audiences at New York’s Carnegie Hall. The musical, which was inspired by the provocative and often outrageous TV talk show “Jerry Springer,” is under musical direction in the states by the renowned Stephen Oremus, who most recently directed the musical score for the smash hit musical Wicked.

Jerry Springer The Opera tells the story of a transsexual who is involved in a love quadrangle and a distressed wife whose husband is having an affair with a baby. Ticket sales were announced.
