‘Wicked’ kicks it up a notch in Chicago: cast and crew hit 1,000th performance at Ford Center

Not only is “Wicked” the top grossing and longest running Broadway show in Chicago history, the smash hit musical also celebrated its 1000th performance in the Windy City Wednesday, Nov. 7 at the Ford Center for Performing Arts. The Chicago production of “Wicked,” which has grossed more than $140 million in the box office, has been seen by more than 2 million spectators and has become an increasingly popular tourist attraction – routinely drawing audiences from all over the country and internationally, according to an article published Wednesday, Nov. 7 by Broadway World.

Some may be wondering what all the fuss is over a musical.
