The 2007 Tony Honors for Excellence in Theatre were presented Tuesday, Oct. 31 by the American Theatre Wing and the American Theatres and Producers, with an award going to current “Wicked” wardrobe supervisor Alyce Gilbert, as well as featured performances from many Broadway musical stars including “Wicked” cast members Julia Murney and Katie Adams, according to an article published Thursday, Nov. 1 at BroadwayWorld.com.
The Tony Honors for Excellence in Theatre were established in 1990 and are given annually by the Tony Administration Committee to provide recognition to organizations, institutions and individuals who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in categories that do not exist for traditional Tony awards. Tuesday’s award show was hosted by Tony Award winner Tommy Tune and featured additional performances from Patti LuPone and the cast of “Young Frankenstein.”
