‘Showbusiness’ DVD released Oct. 16, chronicles Schwartz and making of ‘Wicked’

A new documentary, “Showbusiness,” was released Oct. 16 on DVD and features exclusive footage of composer and lyricist Stephen Schwartz working on the smash hit musical “Wicked” in his Connecticut home, according to an article published on MusicalSchwartz.com.

The documentary was made in 2003 and goes inside the making of several large-scale musicals, including “Wicked,” recording everything that goes into a production from casting and staging, to red carpet, opening night, nominations and the Grammy Awards. Idina Menzel and several other cast members were interviewed in the film and also features an exclusive scene where five theatre critics sit around a dinner table discussing which musicals with experience success and why.
