‘Rockers on Broadway’ features performances from ‘Wicked’ cast

Several members of the “Wicked” cast performed Monday, Oct. 22 in the “Rockers on Broadway Salutes Motown” event at the BB King Blues Club and Grill, astounding audiences with songs and music by legendary rockers including Micky Dolenz from The Monkees and Deborah Gibson, the “original pop princess,” according to an article published Wednesday, Oct. 24 on Broadway World.

The event, which was founded in 1993 by Jersey Boys cast member and creator Donnie Kehr when he was performing in the Broadway run of “The Who’s Tommy.” Now in its 14th year, “Rockers on Broadway” was created to give Broadway stars the chance to feel what it would be like to perform with legendary rock stars and “transfer the rawness of that edge to the stage,” according to the Broadway World article.
