“Wicked” Soundtrack Still Number One

No matter how the other shows that come and go upon Broadway’s main stages gain standing in the Billboard’s Cast Albums chart, “Wicked” always seems to come out on top. That’s right, this smash-hit musical by Stephen Schwartz and Winnie Holzman is back at the top of the Billboard Cast Album Chart after having been displaced by “Legally Blonde: The Musical” last week. It is truly incredible that this musical not only continues to wow audiences onstage, but also continues to woww them when they’ve returned home, purchasing thes oundtrack to this hit show so that they can listen to the hit songs over and over again and re-live the show night after night for themselves.

This is a strong showcase of just how pouplar this musicla is with audiences. Seemingly this show should have bowed down to the newer shows coming to the forefront of Broadway musical theater by now. Seemingly this show should have stepped into the sidelines to still play to excitable audiences but perhaps to no longer be selling out touring runs and residential shows in various state in the US and countryes outside of America. Yet, this is not what is happenign with “Wicked” and indeed the show is keeping a truly delightful clip in gaining new fans and keeping loyal ones. “Wicked” is one impressive show, of that there can be no doubt, and everything about it from the costumes to the storyline to the soundtrack proves this.
