Ana Gasteyer To Return to Stage!

Ana Gasteyer, that alum from a little show known as “Saturday Night Live” is returning to the stage to play the role of the infatuated Fosca in the Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine musical “Passion.” We say that Gasteyer is returning to Braodway because she did, indeed, take to teh stage alst year to play Elphaba in the Stephen Schwartz-Winnie Holzman smash-hit musical “Wicked.” Perhaps you’ve heard of it? Telling the tale fo the Land of Oz before little Dorothy and her dog Tot ever arrigved? Telling the tale of who the TIn Man, the COwardly LIon and the Scarecrow were before they were ever discoverd by little miss Dorothy? How Glinda The Good Witch and the Wicked Witch of the West, whose name of Elphaba, met, became friends, and eventually were pitted against each other?

Without a doubt, “Wicked” was a great stand for Gasteyer herself to make, to break herself away from her SNL personalities and to put herself back in people’s minds as a theatrical actress who can certainly sing, a factor of her acting abilities which had been lost during her SNL appearance days as he audience base changed considerably.
