If you were not able to get yourself tickets to see Wicked in London, then you are going to want to talk to friends who were able to get tickets to see tonights performance, Monday, July 16, 2007 because today is the day that a handful of new cast members fly into the show that has audiences flocking from all over the world to see how Oz was before that little Dorothy landed in the Emerald City.
Playing at the Apollo Vicotira Theater in London’s West End Theater District, Dianne PIlkington, Oliver Tompsett and Andy Mace will take to the stage to play their respective roles with all the vigor and fun that long-time fans of the show have come to expect from those actors chosen to bring the characters created by Frank L. Baum and expanded upon by Gregory Maguire, to life.
There is very little that is as much fun as being able to watch the antics of Glinda the Good Witch and Elphaba the Wicked With of the West battle it out for popularity and the joy of the Emerald City and the chance to meet the Wizard. The opportunity tosee these characters interpreted by new actors, hwoever, is a great expeirnece that comes pretty darn close. For their parts, Pilkington will be taking on othe role of Glinda from Helen Dallimore while Tompsett will portray Fiyero after Adam Garcia’s time with the role. Andy Mace will be taking over Dr. Dillamond from Martin Ball.
