“Wicked” Back at Number One!

After a one week drop from the top, “Wicked” resumed its usual place at the number one spot of the Billboard Top Cast Album chart. Usurped last week by “Spring Awakening” in the number one spot, this week “Wicked” calmly and coolly took their spot at the top of the chart once more, moving the DuncanSheik and Steven Sater musical that is “Spring Awakening” into the number three spot. Number two for this week was “Jersey Boys.”

The fact that “Wicked” has resumed its number one place as the most popular and top rated cast album on the market today gives the musical just as much credit, if not moreso, than ticket sales, because everyone knows that it is the music that makes a musical!
