“Wicked” in Documentary

It has been announced that the documentary entitled “ShowBusiness” which follows Wicked as well as Avenue Q, Taboo and Caroline, or Change will be opening in cities beyond New York City in which the film opened on Friday, May 11, 2007. Directed by Dori Berinstein, this film got attention at the 2005 Tribeca Film Festival and documents the rehearsals and backstage dramas of the four musical all of which opened during the 2003-2004 Broadway season. Of the stars that appear in the documentary are Rosie O’Donnell, Idina Menzel, Alan Cumming, Sarah Jessica Parker and Cyndi Lauper.

“ShowBusiness” was a finalist for the International Documentary Association (IDA) Distinguished Documentary Award and was a feature finalist for the category of Best Documentary of 2006. Additionally, this documentary won the Best Documentary Feature Grand Jury Prize at the 2006 Florida Film Festival.
