Wickeds Tours are Impressive!

The hit musical Wicked is currently playing in Chicago, Los Angeles and London, and the show is also embarking on an impressive tour here in the United States, hitting up Dallas, Denver, Oklahoma City, Columbus, East Lansing, Philadelphia, and Boston all before the winter sets in. And would you believe – this is the show’s second tour?

Stephen Schwartz certainly hit upon a gem when he took on Gregory Maguire’s “Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West” to be created into a stage musical, bringing Winnie Holzman on board on write the book and casting a slew of talent including the likes of Idina Menzel, Kristen Chenoweth and Norbert Leo Butz into his lead roles for the original Broadway run of the show.

For a man who wrote his first musical while in college and has continued putting out strong shows ever since, you really ought to see this show – Schwartz may have not gotten the Tony so many believe he deserves after so much time in the business, but you can certainly show your support by being one of the hundreds of fans who stands up and applauds during a curtain call, just hoping for an encore.
