Wicked Grosses Tops!

Wicked has been the highest grossing musical of the week again, for this week ending May 6, 2007. Coming in ahead of most musicals with Jersey Boys having the next-highest gross income for the week, Wicked earned $1,384,931 during this week, down slightly from last week’s earning of $1,389,502.

The average show ticket for Wicked was $90.50 however, insinuating that fans are still more than eager to see this show telling the tale of the two girls who would become Glinda the Good Witch and the Wicked Witch of the West. With a score by Stephen Schwartz and a book by Winnie Holzman based on Greg Maguire’s book “Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West,” there is nothing not to like about this musical and fans continue to flock to see this show night after night, as evidenced by the fact that Wicked was sold out every night this week, for all 8 shows a week.
