Tony-Award winner Kristin Chenoweth has been busy recording vocals on two new CD’s! The Wicked star, playing Glinda The Good Witch in the show’s initial run on Broadway, was seen earlier this season in the Roundabout Theatre Company’s revival of The Apple Tree and will be featured in the upcoming City Center Encores! Production of Stairway to Paradise.
The two recordings that are creating such buzz, however are Nathan Gunn’s latest release, wherein Chenoweth’s starting soprano will undoubtedly pair well with Gunn’s baritone, and the West Side Story Tribute Album which celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Leonard Bernstein-Stephen Sondheim-Arthur Laurents musical.
Nominated for a Tony for her work in Stephen Schwartz’s Wicked, Chenoweth has had a long and successfully varied career on Broadway and has released two solo recordings, both of which show off her great vocal range. Also seen on such television shows as The West Wing and, soon, Ugly Betty, this Broadway songbird still remembers her Wicked days fondly, as do all fans of the show, in it or watching it.
